Stop the bouncing icons on your Mac

Posted by in News, Tech

I love my Mac, but I can’t stand the bouncing icons in the doc. Here is how you stop the darn things from bouncing.

1. Start a terminal session (that’s under the utilities folder in applications.)

2. Type the following

defaults write com.apple.dock no-bouncing -bool TRUE
killall Dock

Your doc will now close and reopen, in all its non-bounding glory!

*Syntax errors (how you type the stuff in, or what we call ‘fat fingering’) in using terminal commands like this can cause undesirable results. Proceed at your own risk.
